Schools Green Screen

Staff and children from a Gateshead Primary School have been taking part in a history project focussed on the local area.   Knetic Education working with year 5 class teacher have inspired and motivated the children to create a short video recording their research. The children have been studying what life was like, the kind of work the community carried out and how they lived.   Local volunteers with specialist knowledge of the area have shared their knowledge and experience with the children.   The children have been writing in a creative style about the historical context describing what the area would have looked like and how various sites were used in the past.   The children have developed their technical knowledge and understanding of how to record good quality video clips and assemble them using cutting edge technology. The class went out on location using iPads trying out various video recording techniques, and later devoted time as a classroom exercise edited clips together and used green screen technology to further develop their video skills.   Class experts emerged who led their peers in the use of the existing schools iPad equipment, truly taking ownership of their own learning.
