For many years, since our time with the LA, we have been running regular ICT/Computing Leads meetings. Over the years the regular attenders became friends. When we set up in business we didn’t want to lose that so we decided, free of charge, to continue running the meetings. These continue to be a huge success and offer a way to keep up to date and meet with colleagues to share ideas on how Computing is being taught. The theme of the meeting generally comes from the group and they are informal and friendly. We guarantee that you always come away with a classroom tip or too as well as having the chance to network and exchange ideas. At our Autumn meeting, which was kindly hosted by Rickleton Primary School, we invited Nick Cook from CAS to bring along some crumbles for a bit of hands on experience with the devices.
Everyone – including us – were highly impressed with the versatility of the devices and we hatched a plan to run a project with schools in the new year. The Christmas meeting will take the form of a “teach meet” where we’ll aim to put together an advent calendar full of ideas for creative computing.
