For a number of years, we have been successfully delivering online safety assemblies in Primary and Secondary schools. We have to keep moving forward and keeping things fresh. We chose the Anti-Bullying Childrens’ Conference to launch our new assembly “Who is Dan?”

The assembly follows a story format while the children find out about a fictional boy called Dan and how the way he behaves in real life and online are different. They explore how they feel about him as a person, because of the way he behaves, and are asked to think about how that changes. The aim of the assembly is to get the children to reflect on how their own behaviours may be influencing what people think of them. The assembly was followed up by a workshop where the children used a simplified version of JoHari’s window to explore how they view themselves and how others may view them.

For the secondary students, their keynote explored the advances in technology in their lifetime and the impact it currently has and will go on to have on their lives.

The assembly and workshop are just one of a collection of online safety sessions we deliver in schools. If you want to know more about what we offer please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The Anti-Bullying Children’s conference travels around Sunderland every year and is free for Sunderland Schools to attend.
